Game Four Recap... Jackie Harrison
As a reminder to our viewers, all information on this site regarding players of the TOC, has been written and provided by each of the contestants who were able to participate. Information has been posted from all members who were willing to contribute.
Jackie Harrison, who is both a surgeon and mother to a recent newborn
unfortunately was not able to participate. This is not to say that she will not
share her Jeopardy experience with us sometime in the future, but with her busy schedule I am sure you can understand and appreciate why she could not.
In the event that Jackie should send us her thoughts sometime at a later date we will post them to the site.
Alan Bailey, TOC player in game five, was an instrumental part in the making of this site and here is his what he had to say about Jackie...
Unfortunately Jackie has been unable to participate in these recaps --- hey,
she's a surgeon with a newborn!
In Jackie's absence, I'd like to give you an impression of her. First of all, I
was extremely grateful that she took my very first question in stride --- "So
when are you due?" (In my defense, she was sitting behind me on the bus, and I could only see her head.) I must say, as we spent most of the day together in the Green Room I was struck again and again by the, well, surgical precision she exhibited. I mean, Jackie is very friendly and I instantly liked her, but the vibe this woman gives off lets you know that she is utterly efficient in every aspect of her life. While she was doing a crossword puzzle, she was crystal clear --- in the friendliest way --- about which clues she'd like help on and which ones she could handle by herself. When she wanted to make it fun, she threw clues out to the crowd --- I remember Travis and I shouted out guesses most often. When she wanted to get clues by herself, she just turned on a laser-beam concentration that we dared never interrupt. After seeing Jackie handily solve a series of difficult problems posed by the puzzles she was working on, I could easily imagine her unflappability in the high-pressure world
of an Emergency Room. She delegates, she decides, she acts. And don't get in her way. Yes, friends, our girl Jackie is a badass.
